Pop icon Taylor Swift recently took to Instagram to share a comical skit promoting her pink, glittery Target-exclusive The Life of a Showgirl vinyl. It had fans swooning over her outfit via InStyle.
While more Tortured Poets Department versus showgirl-coded, it was elevated and classy. She donned a $56,500 Louis Vuitton watch alongside a $12,600 Cartier panther necklace and countless other gems. She slipped into a relaxed Gant blazer, form-fitting Balenciaga corset, and—the star of the show—Agolde jeans.
They’re not only instantly cooler thanks to the Swift stamp of approval. However, a closer look reveals a trendy detail that’s sure to turn heads: a crossover waistband, which gives the look of folded over, re-stitched denim in the chicest way possible, while the slouchy silhouette keeps things chill. Her jeans are comfortable and undemanding, yet still look like you put in more effort than you did.
With The Life of the Showgirl album out October 3rd, the 35-year-old pop star is a one-woman race, as per music industry experts.
“If one single goes No. 1, she’ll bury Drake in the 2020s race. Taylor isn’t competing with the industry anymore — she’s competing with herself,” an insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.
Her two limited-edition, vinyl albums sold out in less than 60 minutes, so Swift is proving that she’s already blown away her competition. “If anyone can beat Taylor, it’s Taylor,” the report added. As the BBC put it, she has essentially “built her own universe around her,” making her business ventures “too big to fail.”
“She has built this empire around her where no one can tell her what to do except Taylor herself,” says Tatiana Cirisano, a music analyst at MIDiA consultancy, told the U.K. outlet.
