Taylor Swift recently made her comeback to Instagram to praise her friend Selena Gomez and Gomez’s fiancé Benny Blanco, who just released their joint album, I Said I Love You First.
Sharing an image of the album’s cover art, Swift wrote in her Instagram Stories, “@selenagomez & @itsbennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH. OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD.”
She linked to the couple’s project so fans could check it out. The Eras Tour star’s last post was on December 11th, shortly as the tour ended, she embarked on a well-deserved break. That was the same month Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco, and Swift did hop into the comments to write:
“Yes I will be the flower girl” on Gomez’s post revealing her marquise diamond ring.
Blanco had seemingly gotten to know Swift through his relationship with Gomez. During a joint appearance for the couple on Spotify’s Countdown To podcast promoting their album, Gomez shared a story about attending one of Swift’s recent parties.
“As a couple, we went to Taylor’s party after some awards show,” Gomez said, adding they were too early.
“I don’t know it was kind of cute, but I was mortified. Apparently cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
Blanco added, “We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you. You show up when like my mother shows up to a party. No, I thought you were gonna talk about the fact that no one knew we were dating and we were hiding.”
On Hot Ones, Blanco talked about getting into Swift’s music with Gomez’s guidance.
“She did get me into [Swift’s music],” Blanco said. “I honestly didn’t know… before we started dating like obviously, I was aware of like Taylor Swift’s music but I wasn’t like a true Swiftie until I was with [Gomez].”
“And now I’ll be like, ‘Put that song on. How’s that one go again?’ And like we’re in the car, and I’m like, ‘Wow I’m just, like, singing Taylor Swift songs from like 10 years ago, and [I] feel free.’”
