Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend Matty Healy recently seemed to drag the pop star while performing at the Glastonbury Festival in England via Page Six.
The 1975 frontman recently took a moment to address the crowd at Worthy Farm in Somerset on Friday night, saying, “What this moment is making me realize is that I probably am the best,” per a video posted on Variety’s X account.
“I’m probably the best songwriter of my generation,” he continued while raising a glass of beer. “The best, what do we say — A POET — ladies and gentlemen, is what I am.”
Healy, 36, seemed to be referencing Swift’s upcoming 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which is believed to include several allusions to the rocker. The star of “Robbers” confidently described himself as a “generational wordsmith.” In the background of the clip, a fan humorously suggested that Healy was hinting at the “Lover” singer’s album. Healy and Swift, 35, had a brief relationship that lasted from May to June 2023, following Swift’s breakup with Joe Alwyn.
During their short-lived romance, the duo were inseparable, with the “About You” crooner attending several of the Grammy winner’s sold-out Eras Tour concerts.
They were also often spotted in New York City, including at the Electric Lady recording studio.
When the duo split, an insider told “Entertainment Tonight” that it was due to incompatibility and scheduling issues. When Swift released “TTPD” in April 2024, it was rumored that she wrote the album’s title track, “Guilty As Sin,” “Down Bad,” “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus,” The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” about Healy.
