Pop icon Taylor Swift recently fuelled fresh conversation about her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce after releasing a new, ’90s-themed music video for her song “Opalite.” The pop star is shown alongside actor Domhnall Gleeson in a storyline that uses unusual props and on-screen messages to underline the track’s themes about relationships and moving on from past romances.
In the closing moments of the video, Page Six reported that a message flashes on screen stating “Rock and Cactus married in a small, intimate ceremony after meeting through Opalite,” followed by another message reading: “Garbage is still garbage.”
The report describes Swift filling the “void of a romantic partner” with a large rock while Gleeson does the same with a cactus, with the items framed as representing Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn and Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole. It also notes that Swift is said to be planning her wedding to Kelce after he proposed in August 2025.
The “Opalite” visual also includes a run of celebrity cameos, including Graham Norton, Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith and Lewis Capaldi.
The release follows ongoing attention on the couple’s public profile, including previous Britpop News coverage of how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce faced a ‘first real test’ in their relationship amid competing schedules.
Swift and Kelce began dating in summer of 2023, after ending their respective relationships, and have since become one of pop culture’s most-watched pairings. The latest video adds a new talking point, with its closing captions and symbolism likely to be closely scrutinised by fans for clues about the couple’s next steps.
