Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco recently appeared on Spotify’s Countdown To ahead of their album I Said I Love You First, releasing on March 21. During the episode, they talked about their relationship and an amusing moment from their early days as a couple.
Blanco asked Gomez about their first party together, and she recalled attending Taylor Swift’s post-awards show party. However, she admitted feeling embarrassed because they arrived right on time—something she later learned wasn’t considered “cool.” Blanco joked that they’re always the first at every party, comparing Gomez’s timing to that of his mother.
Gomez and Swift have been close friends since 2008, when they were both dating Jonas brothers. When Gomez and Blanco got engaged in December 2024, Swift excitedly commented on Instagram, saying, “Yes, I will be the flower girl,” a comment that received nearly two million likes.
Ahead of their album release, Gomez and Blanco have already dropped three singles: Scared of Loving You, Call Me When You Break Up (featuring Gracie Abrams), and Sunset Blvd. They also previewed their new song Bluest Flame during a surprise appearance at a special Spring Breakers screening in New York.
I Said I Love You First will be out on March 21.
