The royal family’s official social media account had an unexpected reaction to a video poking fun at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s now-viral delivery room dance.
Earlier this month, Meghan shared a rare clip of her and Harry dancing in the hospital while waiting for their daughter Lilibet to be born back in 2021. In the video, the couple danced to Starrkeisha’s “The Baby Momma Dance,” which led to them being widely mocked online.
On Wednesday, British reality TV stars Jamie Laing and his wife Sophie Habboo, who are expecting their first child, posted a playful video copying the Sussexes’ dance. They filmed it on the grand staircase inside Buckingham Palace during an event for King Charles’ charity, the King’s Trust, and shared it with Laing’s 1.6 million Instagram followers.
Even though taking videos inside the palace breaks royal rules, the royal family’s official account responded with humor, commenting, “We see you 👀😉.” The King’s Trust’s page also joked, writing, “All of our attendees are very well behaved 👀😂.”
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan faced plenty of online teasing after posting their original video. Meghan shared it in honor of Lilibet’s fourth birthday, writing that after spicy food, long walks, and acupuncture didn’t work to start labor, dancing was the last thing left to try.
