Princess Kate Reportedly Sets Boundaries Over Prince Andrew
Princess Kate is reported to be taking a firmer private stance regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, amid continuing scrutiny of his position within the Royal Family. The claims focus on alleged boundaries being set behind closed doors by the Princess of Wales and Prince William as the family seeks to distance itself from further controversy.
Marie Claire UK reported that an insider told Closer magazine “Kate is taking an especially firm stance,” adding that “the presence of Andrew and Sarah [Ferguson], even quietly, represents a risk” and prevents the family from “fully moving on.”
The same report reiterates that Andrew was arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, and says King Charles III previously described official censures as “necessary” when the former Duke of York was stripped of titles, honours and his royal residence. It also cites earlier comments attributed to the King following the arrest, in which he said the matter should be investigated by the appropriate authorities and that “the law must take its course.”
Royal author Mr Russell Myers was also referenced in the piece, saying on Newsweek’s The Royal Report podcast that Prince William had made his view known that Andrew should have no place within the monarchy. Britpop News has previously reported on the same theme, including that the Princess of Wales was said to be taking a firm stance amid the fallout as the family managed reputational risk.
Marie Claire said it would continue to update its story, with the latest reporting underscoring how questions about Andrew’s role and visibility remain a sensitive issue for senior royals.
