Beatrice and Eugenie Skip Royal Easter Service
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are expected to be absent from the royal family’s traditional Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, as other senior royals including King Charles and Queen Camilla attend. The York sisters’ decision has drawn attention because the service is typically a key fixture in the family calendar and a rare public gathering for multiple generations.
Hello Magazine reported that the sisters are making “alternative” plans for Easter and are likely to celebrate quietly at home with their families, with no official statement issued by Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace about their absence.
The publication said the sisters have been “lying low” since the publication of Epstein files in January, and suggested their grace-and-favour homes could be among their options for the day. Princess Beatrice, who is married to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is understood to have a main home in the Cotswolds while retaining an apartment at St James’s Palace in London.
Princess Eugenie, who is married to Mr Jack Brooksbank, has Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace and is reported to split her time between the UK and Portugal, where the family also has a residence; the couple share two children, August and Ernest. The sisters were last seen with the wider family at Christmas, and they attended the Windsor Easter service in 2025, according to reporting that Prince Andrew’s daughters skip royal Easter service amid continued public interest in their roles.
While the palace has not commented, the report said the York sisters’ plans were made in agreement with King Charles and that they remain part of the family, with future appearances at private celebrations expected.
