Prince Andrew Omitted From Prince Edward Birthday Post
Prince Andrew was notably absent from a royal birthday tribute marking Prince Edward’s 62nd birthday, in the latest sign of the family’s continued efforts to distance itself from the Duke of York.
In a social media post celebrating Edward, Page Six reported that the Royal Collection Trust shared a throwback photo from 1969 showing Edward playing with older siblings King Charles and Princess Anne, with Andrew not pictured.
According to the report, the omission comes weeks after Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations that he forwarded confidential trade documents to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Page Six said Andrew was released later the same day and could face a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
The post also follows a period of heightened public scrutiny for senior royals, including an incident in which protesters heckled the Prince and Princess of Wales and King Charles at a service with demands for answers about Andrew’s ties to Epstein.
Page Six said Andrew agreed in October 2025 to step back from public life, and that he was later stripped of his title and told to move out of Royal Lodge, where he had lived with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. The report added that Andrew relocated to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, while Ferguson was said to be seeking separate accommodation.
