Phil Collins’ representatives recently snubbed the rumors circulating on social media claiming the Genesis drummer is in hospice care.
TMZ reported the denial and it came after Genesis fans began sharing concerns about Collins’ health on social media platforms. Several posts suggested he had been hospitalized.
Fan reactions on social media reflected widespread concern about the musician’s well-being.
One fan wrote on social media, “Phil Collins is in hospice? So help me God.”
Another wrote, “Dear 2025, please leave Phil Collins alone.”
A third fan expressed their distress, saying “If Phil Collins goes next, I’m done with this planet.”
Collins’ team also reached out to TMZ to clarify that these claims were false. They confirmed that the musician has not been hospitalized. The representatives emphasized that the hospice care rumors were inaccurate.
The recent health concerns reflect ongoing challenges the 74-year-old musician has faced in recent years. These challenges have impacted his ability to perform.
Collins has been dealing with severe nerve damage from a 2007 spinal injury that has led to serious mobility issues. The injury has progressively worsened over the years. It forced him to use walking aids and eventually required him to perform while seated during Genesis’s farewell tour.
Collins also suffers from complications related to type 2 diabetes. This has further affected his physical condition. These combined health issues ultimately forced him to retire from drumming in 2022. This put an end to the career that spanned over five decades behind the kit.
