A new ESPN documentary has revealed Patrick Mahomes’ first reaction to Travis Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift.In the third episode of The Kingdom, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recalled that Kelce told him about the relationship before anyone else on the team. Mahomes admitted that at first he didn’t fully believe it, saying he needed to see it with his own eyes.
By September 2023, Swift made her debut appearance in the VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears. The locker room buzzed with excitement, with players surprised that Kelce was dating the 14-time Grammy winner. Mahomes later joked that she was the first person he noticed in the crowd that day, though he stressed that the team still had to stay focused on the game.
Head coach Andy Reid also shared that he had met Swift years earlier in Philadelphia and even teased that he played a part in connecting her with Kelce. After the Bears game, Mahomes told reporters he hadn’t yet met Swift but expected he would at some point if she and Kelce stayed together.
