A customs officer has claimed that Britney Spears skipped her medication after she allegedly acted chaotically on a flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles back in May.
Body cam footage obtained by TMZ on Friday, July 11, shows an airport cop on the tarmac speaking to the customs officer, who says, “We get her all the time. Today she obviously didn’t take her meds. She’s being very compliant; she’s very nice, so to me right now, it’s all good.”
The incident reportedly started during the flight, when sources told TMZ that Spears tried to light a cigarette on board. Britney claimed someone had told her she could smoke, and also felt the flight attendants didn’t like her from the start. However, a source described her as being “difficult” on the flight. Authorities are said to have spoken with Spears before the airport cop arrived on the scene.
Britney, 43, who was under a conservatorship from 2008 to 2021, wrote in her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me about how security guards would hand her prepackaged envelopes of medication and watch her take them.
This flight came after Spears posted in December 2024 that she was living in Mexico, partly due to how harsh paparazzi coverage had been on her appearance. She said in a video, “It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing like a white Jason mask, and it doesn’t even look like me. They’ve always been incredibly cruel… some of it is extremely mean and cruel, and that’s why I’ve moved to Mexico.”
However, a source told the Hollywood Reporter that Britney hadn’t actually moved to Mexico.
In her personal life, Spears has recently been reconnecting with her son Jayden, 18, whom she shares along with Sean Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Earlier this month, a source told Star that Jayden is supportive of his mom but finds many of her viral dance videos on Instagram embarrassing.
“Jayden loves his mom and does his best to accept her as she is,” the insider said. “But he finds a lot of her social media posts incredibly embarrassing, especially the ones where she’s dancing. Jayden’s told her straight up that it upsets him and that his friends give him a hard time about it. He wants a relationship with Britney, but he’s also setting boundaries and communicating what makes him uncomfortable.”
