Reports have emerged that Oasis have been lined up to record the next James Bond theme tune via Daily Mail.
In August, it was announced British screenwriter Steven Knight, would write the latest 007 movie.
Now, Amazon MGM are said to have lined-up the iconic Brit-pop band to be the voice of the soundtrack.
It will be a monumental move for the Gallagher brothers, who reunited this summer after 16 years as they officially brought an end to their long-running feud for their sell-out tour.
Back in 2008, Bond fan Noel, lamented the soundtrack for the ‘greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans,’ referring to the Quantum Of Solace theme ‘Another Way To Die’ by Alicia Keys and Jack White.
At the time, he claimed that an unreleased song of his, Freaky Teeth, would be a great Bond theme.
Speaking on the reported signing, a source told The Sun: ‘The 007 films are one of the great British franchises. And who better to record the theme song than one of the greatest ever British bands?
‘Liam’s swagger and Noel’s anthemic music would be perfect to soundtrack the new film.
‘It is no secret that Noel is a big fan of the Bond films and he would love to have his name listed as one of the few songwriters of a Bond theme among greats like Sir Paul McCartney, Duran Duran and Adele.’
At present, the latest Bond film is in development and is to be directed by Dune’s Denis Villeneuve, with Amazon MGM Studios overseeing the project after longtime producer Barbara Broccoli gave up creative control.
Screenwriter Steven is best known as the creator of BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders starring Cillian Murphy, which has spawned a 2026 movie, whilst his new historical saga House Of Guinness launched on Netflix this autumn.
