Comedian Nikki Glaser, who is hosting the Golden Globe Awards this weekend, has revealed just how dedicated she is as a fan of Taylor Swift.
Glaser recently shared that she spent close to $100,000 attending multiple stops on Swift’s Eras Tour. In an interview with People from December 2024, Glaser explained that the amount covered far more than just concert tickets. It also included travel, hotels, merchandise, and the cost of flying out and hosting friends who attended the shows with her.
In total, Glaser went to 22 Eras Tour concerts over the course of the nearly two-year global tour. She said she feels comfortable with the expense because she does not have children and made a conscious decision not to become a parent. After learning how much it typically costs to raise a child, she felt justified spending that money on something that brought her joy.
“I want to be clear that we’re including travel expenses, hotels, and me also flying and putting up everyone that I would invite to go with me, plus tickets, plus merch,” the 41-year-old told People.
Glaser added: “I justify that cost because I don’t have kids, and it’s something that I consciously decided not to do, and it was something that I struggled with.
“It wasn’t the easiest decision. There was a part of me that was like, ‘I would like kids,’ but it just doesn’t fit in my life. And so in order for me to make myself feel better about the decision, I did look up how much it cost to raise a kid.
“And so once I saw that number, I thought, ‘It’s no problem for me to spend this on Taylor Swift.’”
Glaser later told Variety that she would have attended even more shows if three planned concerts in Vienna had not been canceled in 2024 due to security concerns.
Her career has also surged recently. Following her breakout appearance on Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady, Glaser earned a Golden Globe nomination for her HBO special Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die. She found out about the nomination after attending Swift’s final Eras Tour show in Vancouver.
Fans can watch Glaser host the Golden Globes again on Sunday, January 11.
