Miley Cyrus accused of ‘snub’ after staying seated for Lady Gaga’s Grammys win
Miley Cyrus has been accused online of snubbing Lady Gaga during the 2026 Grammy Awards after cameras caught her remaining seated as Gaga collected a major prize on stage.
During the ceremony, Page Six reported that Cyrus did not stand or clap as Gaga accepted the Best Pop Vocal Album award for “Mayhem”, while other nominees in the category applauded.
Representatives for both artists did not immediately respond to requests for comment, according to the outlet, as viewers on social media debated whether Cyrus was shading Gaga or reacting to Gaga’s producer Andrew Watt being on stage.
The moment comes amid ongoing fan chatter about Cyrus’s relationship with Watt, who worked with her on “Plastic Hearts” in 2020; in an Entertainment Weekly interview at the time, Watt praised Cyrus as an artist who “always knows what she wants to do.” Cyrus has remained a frequent headline figure in recent months, including when a former Olympian recalled flirting with the singer before coming out.
With both camps staying publicly quiet, the incident is likely to continue fuelling Grammys-night conversation online, as fans look for further context around the on-camera reaction and any ties to Cyrus’s past collaborations.
