Jessica Mulroney, once known as Meghan Markle’s closest friend, is now facing a very public and symbolic break from one of Canada’s most famous political families. According to sources, she has been deliberately left out of the Mulroney family’s Christmas card, a move that signals just how far she has fallen out of favor with her former in-laws.
The Christmas card was sent by Mila Mulroney, the widow of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, who passed away in 2024. The card reportedly featured Mila surrounded by 19 family members, including her four adult children and their families. Jessica was not included at all. However, her estranged husband Ben Mulroney did appear on the card, standing alongside their three children — twin sons Brian and John, and their daughter Ivy.
This exclusion comes after Jessica and Ben quietly separated earlier this summer following 16 years of marriage. The split was reportedly meant to stay private until media outlets learned about it in July. Sources close to the family say tensions had been building for some time, with allegations that Jessica used other people to spread rumors about the separation.
Insiders also claim that the Mulroney family never fully accepted Jessica from the beginning and were frustrated by what they saw as social climbing behavior. Now, as the divorce moves forward, family members reportedly expect it to be difficult and emotionally draining.
Jessica’s public life has already taken major hits in recent years. Her friendship with Meghan Markle ended in 2020 after she was accused of displaying white privilege during the Black Lives Matter movement. That controversy cost her several high-profile jobs, including television appearances and hosting roles. While she still maintains a large social media following and presents herself as an international stylist, her personal and professional standing appears far less stable than it once was.
Being left out of the Mulroney Christmas card may seem small, but for a family so steeped in tradition and public image, it sends a very clear message.
