Meghan Markle’s estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., 58, has announced that he is writing a tell-all book about her childhood. He is currently living in the Philippines, where he is caring for their 80-year-old father, Thomas Markle Sr., and says the book is progressing well.
Markle Jr. believes the book will generate significant interest, even hinting that it might lead to a documentary. He downplays financial motives, claiming it’s not about money but about principle, though he admits it would be nice to make some profit.
In the book, Markle Jr. plans to address the stories Meghan has shared about her childhood, especially in her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, where she called herself a “latchkey kid” and claimed her family was poor. Markle Jr. has previously criticized Meghan, accusing her of fabricating stories for sympathy. He insists they were not poor and challenges her claim of growing up on a tight budget.
Markle Jr. also touched on the strain in the family after their father, Thomas Markle Sr., posed for paparazzi photos before Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018. Their relationship has been difficult ever since, and Markle Sr. has never met his grandchildren. However, he expresses a desire for family reconciliation, hoping one day they can reunite like a “normal” family.
