Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, may be considering a return to royal duties, according to cultural critic and podcaster Kristen Meinzer.
Speaking with the Daily Express UK, Meinzer explained that Prince Harry never intended to completely walk away from his responsibilities as a senior royal. She noted that Harry has often said his goal was not to give up service, but rather to balance royal life with passion projects much like his uncle Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, have done.
Meinzer also pointed out that the late Queen Elizabeth II made the decision to allow Harry and Meghan to step away fully and move to the United States. Unlike other royals, the couple was not given the chance to pursue personal projects while still serving the crown. She added that the institution also failed to address the racism Meghan faced with the seriousness it deserved.
Now, with King Charles in charge, Meinzer believes the situation could be different. She suggested that if Charles offered Harry and Meghan a role with flexibility and security, the couple would likely consider it.
This follows recent reports that representatives for Harry and Meghan met with one of King Charles’ aides, signaling the possibility of reconciliation within the royal family.
