Meghan Markle recently snubbed past divorce rumors during a podcast interview in which she said her marriage to Prince Harry was “forever” via Newsweek.
The Duchess of Sussex was a guest on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, hosted by her close friend. And when she was asked, “Do you think you’ll be married forever?” Meghan replied: “Yes.”
A clip of the moment went viral on X, where it was viewed 1.8 million times and liked 6,700 times.
Meghan and Harry have endured unfounded speculation that they were locked in a secret divorce battle, a claim Newsweek has previously fact-checked as false.
During the podcast interview, Meghan said: “H [Harry], that man loves me so much. And, you know, look what we’ve built, we’ve built a beautiful life, and we have two healthy, beautiful children.
“I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Bros. when you get to the final, final level, what’s the goal in Super Mario Bros.? Slay the dragon, save the princess. I’m like, ‘that’s my husband.'”
When asked if they’re now more in love than ever, she said: “You have to imagine at the beginning its like everyone, butterflies. And then we immediately went into the trenches together right out of the gate, six months into dating. So now seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way and that’s why I feel like its more of a honeymoon period for us now.”
She added that “he’s also a fox.”
Among the rumors, a July 2023 MARCA article was titled: “Meghan Markle’s astronomical divorce fee from Prince Harry revealed.”
The article said: “The British press is also reporting that Markle has filed a financial demand for 80 million dollars to sign the divorce papers, as well as demanding sole custody of their two children.”
The podcast interview was a collaboration between Lima’s show and Meghan’s show, Confessions of a Female Founder. Meghan also interviewed her friend for the fifth episode of Confessions, and there will be a sixth next week.
