Meghan Markle recently opened up about her marriage to Prince Harry via PEOPLE.
The Duchess of Sussex recently appeared on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, a podcast hosted by the founder of IT Cosmetics, on Monday, April 28. While there, Meghan showered praise on Prince Harry, and opened up about life with their two children: Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
“It’s not something to be taken for granted when you have a partner, a spouse, who is just so behind you,” she said. “H, that man loves me so much. Look what we’ve built? We have a beautiful life, we have two healthy, beautiful children.”
She recently went on to make an analogy of their relationship. “I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Bros. When you get to the final, final level and they go, ‘Slay the dragon, save the princess.’ I’m like, that’s my husband,” said the Duchess of Sussex.
“He’s constantly going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we’re uplifted and still make time for date nights.”
Meghan compares their relationship to the Nintendo game five years after the couple stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Meghan’s native California.
Since then, Prince Harry has focused on his philanthropic efforts, including meeting with California firefighters fighting the Pacific Palisades and Altadena wildfires in January 2025. Prince Harry returned for the second year in a row to the Living Legends of Aviation ceremony, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday, April 25, to honor the fire department.
