Meghan Markle carefully set the price of her new raspberry jam to match King Charles’ popular fruit spreads. She wanted to make sure her product didn’t seem cheaper than his, because she wants to be seen on the same level as the royal family.
Her jam, which sells for $9 a jar, is part of her new lifestyle brand called As Ever. That’s the same price as the jams King Charles sells through his royal website and at his Highgrove estate.
A royal insider told RadarOnline.com: “Meghan was smart about it. She didn’t want to seem like a ‘discount royal.’ Even though she’s no longer officially part of the royal family, she still wants to be seen as classy and high-end.”
The jam is also available in a special “keepsake” package for $14. It contains 215 grams and sold out quickly after launch, along with other products like $28 honey and $15 flower sprinkles.
This launch came after Meghan’s first try at a lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, didn’t go so well. She later changed the name to As Ever and started fresh.
In a message to her followers, Meghan said the brand is close to her heart: “It’s not just a business—it’s something I love. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me.”
She added, “You’ve seen the products, and now you can try them yourself. This is just the beginning.”
In a video posted online, Meghan appeared in her garden with Prince Harry. She explained that she once thought the name American Riviera was perfect because it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, where they live. But she realized it limited what she could share.
She said, “As Ever means how it’s always been. If you followed me back in 2014 when I had my blog The Tig, you know I love cooking, gardening, and creating. I haven’t been able to share that for a few years—but now I can.”
