Meghan Markle joked about her husband, Prince Harry, not liking a certain food during a new episode of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.
In the Season 2 episode with chef José Andrés, Meghan, 44, shared that Harry doesn’t like lobster.
“You know who doesn’t like lobster? My husband,” Meghan said.
Chef Andrés jokingly responded, “And you married him anyway?”
Meghan didn’t explain why Harry, 40, doesn’t like lobster, but the royal family generally avoids shellfish because of the risk of food poisoning. King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, explained that it’s a safety measure for the royals because of their busy public schedules.
The royal family also has other food rules. Queen Camilla revealed in 2018 that garlic is a “no-no” for them. She explained that it’s not allowed because it can affect their ability to speak with people during public events.
In another moment on With Love, Meghan, Meghan was a bit embarrassed when mixologist Payman Bahmani-Bailey admitted he didn’t watch Suits, the show where Meghan played Rachel Zane. When Meghan asked if he had seen the show, he replied, “I don’t watch basic cable. I like shows with curse words and stuff.”
Although Season 2 of With Love, Meghan has received some negative reviews, Meghan responded humorously during an appearance on The Circuit with Emily Chang. She said, “I think sometimes, the people who say negative things are secretly making simple meals like spaghetti at home. And that’s fine, they’re just doing their job. It’s up to them if they’re comfortable doing it at someone else’s expense.”
