Meghan says she wants Princess Lilibet raised a ‘really strong lady’ after Sundance documentary premiere
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex has spoken about how she hopes to raise Princess Lilibet, saying she wants her daughter to grow up as a “really strong lady” after being inspired by the young girls featured in a new documentary backed by Archewell Productions.
At the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Hello Magazine reported that the Duchess said the Girl Scouts documentary Cookie Queens had influenced her approach to parenting, adding that it was inspiring to “grow and develop and nurture our daughter” in a similar spirit.
The Duchess, 44, attended the film’s premiere alongside Prince Harry and director Ms Alysa Nahmias. In comments to Extra TV, she said the film shows “the nuance and layers” of the girls involved and described it as reflecting “the spirit of Sundance and of independent filmmaking”.
Meghan also discussed her own connection to the Girl Scouts and said she and the film’s director would continue to consider what felt right for Lilibet’s involvement with the organisation, following earlier Britpop News reporting that she has been linked to concerns about returning to the UK as the couple balance public life with family privacy.
The couple, who live in Montecito, California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have increasingly used public appearances tied to their projects to underline themes of community and youth development, while keeping details of their children’s day-to-day lives limited.
