Meghan Markle Wears Merlot Slip Dress for As Ever
Meghan Markle has showcased a lingerie-inspired look for 2026 in a new social media post for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, appearing in a merlot slip dress while pouring a glass of the brand’s brut. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was featured in the second image of a carousel shared on the brand’s Instagram, offering a rare glimpse of her eveningwear styling and signalling how deep berry tones remain in her wardrobe moving into the new season.
Hello Magazine reported that Meghan’s dress was identified as the ‘Marion’ slip dress by designer Heidi Merrick, featuring a deep V neckline, a shin-skimming skirt and black bows at each shoulder.
In the same piece, personal stylist Ms Leanne Jones said the Duchess’s outfit reflected a wider shift towards lingerie-style dressing for spring/summer 2026, pointing to sheer fabrics and slip dresses seen on recent catwalks. Ms Jones also suggested the trend can be adapted for any age with styling tweaks, including layering with jackets or shawls for added coverage, and switching between heels for a more formal silhouette or trainers and denim for a relaxed daytime look.
Meghan has previously leaned into similar rich tones, and her latest appearance for As Ever comes amid ongoing interest in her public-facing brand work and style choices, including Britpop News coverage of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepping out together in California earlier this month.
The post underlines how the Duchess continues to use curated brand imagery to spotlight fashion and lifestyle messaging, while the designer identification and expert commentary position the slip dress as a key look likely to filter into mainstream wardrobes through 2026.
