Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher recently revealed his brother Liam was on “spectacular form” as they watched Manchester City win the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
The Oasis brothers showed up at the EFL Cup final together at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon, where they saw their beloved Manchester City emerge victorious against Arsenal to lift the trophy for the eighth time in their history, after goals from Nico O’Reilly.
This marks the first time the Gallagher brothers have been seen together in public since the final date of the Oasis 25 comeback tour in Sao Paulo, Brazil in November.
Noel spoke about the “great, great, great time” they had at the match during an appearance on TalkSport on Monday, when he said they were in “a quite boozy box” in the stadium for the game, with both Noel and Liam’s kids also in attendance.
“He invited me in his box. He was on spectacular form. On either side of us were two Arsenal boxes and let’s put it this way, he was letting them know that he was there.”
Noel said the win was extremely important for the team, especially with many new players. While the League Cup may not matter much to Manchester City as a club, it was a big moment for this squad to win their first medals and defeat the top team in England and Europe.
“We celebrated it hard. I’m not sure if I can overstate the importance of that yesterday for us. The League Cup’s not important to Man City the organisation, they’re not built for League Cups, but for that team – half the squad is new players, for them to win their first medals and beat the best team in the league, the best team in Europe, that’s huge for us yesterday.”
