Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK later this month, but reports suggest it is very unlikely that he will see his father, King Charles III, during the trip.
Harry, 41, will be in Britain for a few days to attend the opening of a court case connected to his legal battle against Associated Newspapers, the company behind the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. Several other well-known figures are also involved in the lawsuit, which claims illegal information gathering. The publisher has strongly denied the accusations.
According to reports, King Charles is expected to be in Scotland at the same time Harry is in London. Royal sources say the King does not want to be linked to any court proceedings and usually keeps his distance during legal matters. Experts also claim that communication between father and son is very limited, with trust still a major issue.
Harry and his father last met privately in September after more than a year apart, which was seen as a small step toward easing tensions. However, royal commentators now say a reunion during this visit is unlikely.
Harry has been estranged from much of his family since stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and moving to California with his wife, Meghan Markle. While he has publicly said he wants reconciliation, sources believe the relationship remains strained and complicated.
