King Charles Orders Royal Lodge Cleared of Andrew
King Charles has reportedly instructed aides to remove remaining belongings linked to Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge, after the Duke of York left the 30-room property on the Windsor estate. The claims come amid renewed scrutiny of Andrew’s position and living arrangements, with staff said to be clearing the building ahead of a deadline.
Skips were seen outside the Berkshire residence and a staff member was spotted burning old furniture outside the building, The Standard reported, adding that a source said aides were told “no trace of the former occupants or staff should remain”.
The report says the King ordered Andrew to leave Royal Lodge on 2 February after more than 20 years at the property, where he was said to pay a peppercorn rent. It adds that removal workers were later seen loading items including a mattress into vans, and that apartments used by Andrew’s personal staff were among the spaces being cleared.
The account follows earlier reporting on Andrew’s relocation, including claims that he was seen moving into a Sandringham home as his base shifted away from Windsor.
While the palace has not publicly commented on the details of the clearance operation, the latest report underlines the continuing efforts to draw a line under Andrew’s time at Royal Lodge and to reset staffing and use of the Windsor estate property.
