King Charles III’s office made a rare mistake on social media after posting a message about the United Kingdom’s partnership with Ukraine.
On January 16, the Royal Family’s official X account shared a message from the King to mark the first anniversary of the 100 Year Partnership between the UK and Ukraine. The agreement, signed in January 2025, focuses on long-term cooperation in areas such as defense, the economy, and culture. The message was presented across two official slides featuring the Royal Coat of Arms and the King’s signature, “Charles R.”
However, people quickly noticed an error. The slides appeared to be posted in the wrong order, with the second half of the message appearing before the first. While mistakes on royal social media accounts are uncommon, they do happen from time to time, including past typos and broken links.
The correct order of the message was later confirmed when UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy read the King’s full statement during an event in Kyiv on the same day. In the message, King Charles III praised the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people and expressed hope for a just and lasting peace.
The post ended with “Slava Ukraini,” meaning “Glory to Ukraine,” reflecting Britain’s continued support. The UK has remained a key ally of Ukraine, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met King Charles several times since the war began.
