Prince Andrew is still living at Royal Lodge in Windsor, even though Buckingham Palace announced in October that he would be evicted. While plans were said to be moving forward, the holiday season has passed and Andrew has not yet left the property.
According to reports from royal journalist Rebecca English, the current plan is for Prince Andrew to move out by Easter, which falls on April 5 this year. Easter is seen as an important deadline because the royal family traditionally gathers at St George’s Chapel in Windsor before sharing a family lunch. Andrew has attended Easter services in recent years, despite stepping back from royal duties.
Sources say that Andrew’s departure would help avoid uncomfortable public encounters for the family, especially as King Charles III continues efforts to distance the monarchy from controversy. However, there may be delays. Andrew is expected to move to a property on the Sandringham estate, but the home reportedly needs major renovations before it is suitable to live in.
Another complication is Andrew’s belongings. Royal Lodge currently holds many of his personal items, along with valuable pieces linked to the Royal Collection. Downsizing and relocating these items could take time.
While people close to the King want Andrew out by Easter, royal watchers say it is still unclear whether that deadline will be met.
