King Charles had a tough year in 2024. He was diagnosed with cancer, and his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, also announced that she was battling the disease. Now, reports say Charles recently had an emotional moment with his sister, Princess Anne. King Charles III also allegedly fears near fatal poisoning.
According to a royal aide who spoke to Woman’s Day Magazine (via The Express), Charles cried during a conversation with Anne. She told him she would always be there to support him and the Royal Family, which touched him deeply.
“The talk they had was very emotional for Charles, and he broke down in tears because of her loyalty,” the source said.
However, Charles doesn’t want Anne to feel like she has to keep working because of his illness. At 76, he worries that Anne, who is 74, may feel pressured to continue her royal duties. But privately, he is happy that she will stay by his side.
Even though Charles was emotional, Anne kept her sense of humor. She reportedly told him, “Dry your tears, pull yourself together, and get on with it!”
The royal aide also said that Anne is Charles’s “most trusted friend.” “She’s more than just his sister,” the source said. “He has always relied on her, and he feels he can’t lead without her support.”
Despite his health struggles, Charles is staying positive. During a visit to London in December 2024, someone asked how he was feeling. He jokingly replied, “I’m still alive.”
Charles’s cancer treatment will continue into 2025, according to Sky News. Doctors say he is improving, and there is hope for his recovery. He plans to keep up with his royal duties and has been active during the holiday season.
