Four years have passed since Kim Kardashian filed to end her marriage with Kanye West, who legally goes by Ye via Buzzfeed.
Following an incredibly prolonged legal battle, Kim and Ye’s divorce was finalized in November 2022. The court documents noted that the pair had agreed to share joint physical and legal custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, who are now 11, 9, 7, and 5, respectively.
Kim has discussed her divorce multiple times in her family’s Hulu series The Kardashians, she has remained pretty private when it comes to how her kids coped with their parents’ split. A couple of years ago, Kim briefly talked about how her eldest daughter, North, repeatedly compared her parenting to Ye’s.
“She’ll go to her dad’s. She’ll be like, ‘Dad’s the best! He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security, he lives in an apartment,’” Kim told her sister Kourtney.
“And she’ll start crying: ‘Why don’t you have an apartment? I can’t believe we don’t have an apartment!’” Kim added.
In this week’s episode of The Kardashians, Kim told Kourtney that North is now “obsessed” with her. “The craziest thing happened — tell me this happened to Mason,” Kim says, referring to Kourt’s eldest son with her ex Scott Disick.
“North is obsessed with me now. [She] calls me with her friends, like, ‘Mom, I love you, you’re the best mom, I love you so much,’” she says.
Kourtney replies, “Well, she’s always been like that with me. Do you think you changed?” Kim says, “I mean, possibly. It was a year of, like, mad at me.”
Kourtney then reminds Kim, “Also, you guys were getting a divorce.” Kim notes, “I think it was all the divorce. Like, it’s insane, the turnaround.”
