Kate Middleton Draws New Line on Prince Andrew Fallout
Kate Middleton is reportedly taking a tougher position on how closely the Prince and Princess of Wales should be associated with Prince Andrew as renewed scrutiny around his links to Jeffrey Epstein continues to reverberate around the Royal Family.
Yahoo Entertainment reported that a source told Closer magazine the Princess of Wales is “taking an especially firm stance” and that Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s continued presence, even quietly, is seen as a reputational risk that makes it harder for the family to move on.
The report also references remarks from royal author Dr. Russell Myers, who said Prince William has made his views known that Andrew should have no place “within the monarchy” and described him as a “stain” on the institution if kept close. It also cites a statement attributed to a representative for the Prince and Princess of Wales saying they have been “deeply concerned” by continuing revelations and that their thoughts remain focused on the victims.
The latest claims come as royal watchers have tracked how the Waleses manage family relationships and public optics, with Britpop News previously reporting that Princess Catherine was keeping her distance from the York sisters amid sensitivities surrounding the Duke of York.
While no formal change in Andrew’s status was announced in the report, the emphasis on tighter boundaries underscores the continuing challenge for the Palace as Prince William’s future role draws closer focus and the Royal Family seeks to limit further reputational damage.
