Kate Middleton is reportedly still finding it hard emotionally and physically even though she is now in remission after her cancer battle. The Princess of Wales has stepped back from royal duties this summer with the full support of her husband Prince William. The couple is also planning a fresh start at Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park after facing tough times at Adelaide Cottage.
According to Radar Online, the royal family’s summer break has been important for Kate as she continues to deal with the lasting effects of her illness. Although she announced eight months ago that she was in remission, insiders say the 43-year-old is still easily tired and dealing with emotional challenges.
A palace source explained that while Kate appears strong at public events, things are different at home. William has been making sure she gets plenty of rest before their children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 return to school in September.
The insider added that Kate is not yet back to where she was before her diagnosis and is unsure if she ever will be. That is why she told William she needs a proper break over the summer and William has been fully supportive of her taking more time away from royal duties.
Despite her struggles, Kate has been carefully easing back into public life. She made a big return at Trooping the Colour in June and later attended both Wimbledon finals in July. Insiders say this slower schedule is part of a plan for her to adjust gradually to working life again. Kate also recently narrated a short film called Mother Nature: Summer which showed people enjoying the outdoors. In her message she encouraged people to love, play, and cherish family, friends, and nature.
Meanwhile William and Kate are moving their family into Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom house in Windsor Great Park. The move is meant to give them more privacy, stability, and a sense of home after three difficult years that included the death of Queen Elizabeth II and cancer diagnoses for both King Charles and Kate. Forest Lodge is being called their forever home. It offers space, peace, and even views of the Wembley Arch from William’s bedroom window. Kate has already been choosing furniture including a 24-seater table for the new home.
