Justin and Hailey Bieber are setting the record straight about their life as new parents and the constant rumors that follow them.
In a Vogue cover story, Hailey explained how frustrating it is to have false narratives about their marriage and family spread online. She said she’s tried to share the truth but often gets dismissed as lying, which feels “trapping.” The gossip ranging from claims of divorce to doubts about Justin’s health, has been especially tough during her postpartum recovery with their 12-month-old son, Jack Blues Bieber. Hailey called this the most sensitive time of her life and said reading daily speculation that they’re unhappy is “such a mind-f—k.”
“I feel like I’ve fought so hard to try to get people to understand me, or know who I am, or see me for me. And people just don’t want to sometimes. And there’s nothing you can do about that. I’ve been in a position where I’ve tried to tell my side of a story or correct a narrative or tell the truth of a lie and then they go, Well, she’s lying. Imagine how trapping that feels.
Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life, and learning a new version of myself is very difficult,” the model continued. “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, They’re getting divorced and They’re this and They’re not happy: It is such a mindf–k. I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
The couple’s history goes back to 2009, when they met at a Today show taping and became friends. Their on-and-off relationship eventually led to an engagement and courthouse wedding in 2018, followed by a larger celebration in 2019. Throughout their time together, rumors have persisted including claims that Justin overlapped relationships with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. Hailey has firmly denied this, stating that Justin was never in another relationship when they began dating.
Despite ongoing public scrutiny, Hailey accepts that not everyone will like her. She admits it’s sad when people judge her based on false stories or assumptions, but she’s learned that universal approval isn’t possible. For now, she and Justin remain focused on their growing family and keeping their private life strong amid the noise.
