Justin Bieber is busy working on a new album, his first since Justice came out in 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sources say he’s almost finished and plans to travel to a Nordic country soon to get some fresh inspiration with a few music friends.
Lately, Bieber has been holding jam sessions at his house in Los Angeles. Some of the people joining him are his longtime DJ Tay James, his music director HARV, SZA’s collaborator Carter Lang, and Australian artist Eddie Benjamin. He’s also working with U.K. singer Sekou and producer Dylan Wiggins, who has worked with artists like Kali Uchis and The Weeknd. Bieber even found some new talent on social media and invited them to join him.
A source says Bieber is feeling happy and creative. They added that taking a trip to a cold place, like Aspen (where he’s been before), is something he likes to do when making music.
Bieber’s team didn’t comment officially, but THR reminds us that he still owes Def Jam Records four more albums. Since starting his career in 2009, Bieber has released six albums, had eight No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, and sold about 24 million albums in the U.S. He also has 17 songs with over a billion streams each on Spotify.
Def Jam is excited for Bieber’s next album. However, things have been a little slower because Bieber recently ended his longtime business relationship with Scooter Braun. Bieber is now building a new team around him and is taking more control of his career.
