Pop icon Justin Bieber recently admitted that he’s done “things that have hurt others” as an “average flawed guy” in a cryptic Instagram post Friday via Page Six.
“I continue to do and say things that hurt others intentionally,” the singer, 31, wrote in the lengthy upload. “Yet I woke up with another opportunity to grow and not be selfish today.”
The Grammy winner also noted that he “sometimes” worries he’ll “get exposed if [he] tells people how selfish” he is.
He also feared admitting to this trait and having people not “like” or “trust” him.
“I thought if I was honest about the selfish things I was feeling that I was gonna be disqualified from the dreams I had of being included,” Bieber explained.
However, he continued, “The more honest I am about where I really am, the more freedom I actually have.”
In another post, the pop star admitted, “I’ve been really asking god to help me see the best in people. Even after being used in the way I have.”
Bieber also told his followers that he strives to ask “for a change of perspective” when he wakes up “bad” or “pessimistic.”
He concluded, “Only god can remove the greed and selfishness from our hearts. Trying harder won’t work. Cuz I tried lol.”
Bieber’s musings come amid growing concerns for the performer’s wellbeing.
The American Music Award winner, who shares an 8-month-old baby boy named Jack with wife Hailey Bieber, posted pictures smoking from a huge bong in an Instagram slideshow last week. The photos made headlines three months after Justin’s rep slammed “harmful” rumors of drug use.
