Jamie Spears reported to seek reconciliation with Britney Spears after arrest
Jamie Spears is said to be trying to repair his relationship with Britney Spears after reports of the singer’s recent arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence in California. The claims come more than four years after a Los Angeles court terminated the conservatorship he oversaw for more than a decade.
National Enquirer reported that Jamie Spears, 73, “doesn’t want to remain disconnected from his daughter” and wants the chance to “talk with her and find some middle ground”, after she was said to be “crying and very tearful” following the March 4 arrest in Ventura County.
The report also claimed police were testing an unknown substance allegedly found inside Spears’ car and that she is expected back in court on May 4. It quoted her manager, Mr Cade Hudson, as saying the incident was “completely inexcusable” and that Spears would “take the right steps and comply with the law”.
Any prospect of rapprochement remains uncertain, with the outlet citing a confidante who said there may be “long-term hatred and loathing” and that Jamie Spears “puts Britney on edge”. Related reporting has previously said the singer was reluctant to re-establish contact, including in an earlier account of her resistance to reconciliation.
Spears has not publicly addressed the latest claims. The report underscores how renewed legal trouble has again prompted scrutiny of her support system and the role her family may play in the months ahead.
