Cassie Ventura, who is eight and a half months pregnant, spent almost 20 hours over four days talking in court about her past relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs. She shared very personal and painful details, saying he abused her during their 10 years together.
Some people believe Diddy’s lawyers made the questioning take longer on purpose, hoping Cassie might go into labor during her time in court. If that happened, it could have caused a mistrial, which would help Diddy. Prosecutors were upset and asked the judge to stop this from happening. The judge agreed and told both sides they had to finish asking Cassie questions by Friday.
Cassie was finally done testifying that day. While in court, she talked about how their relationship started in 2006, when she was 19 and signed to his music label. She said Diddy became violent over time, hitting her, dragging her, and stomping on her.
She also talked about being forced to go to disturbing parties called “Freak Offs” where he often became violent. Cassie said she tried to fight back sometimes but learned that only made things worse.
Their relationship ended in 2018. Cassie said that after they broke up and after she started dating her now-husband, Alex Fine,Diddy raped her in her home. She said they had dinner to talk things over, but when they went back to her apartment, he attacked her.
Testifying in court while very pregnant was hard for Cassie, and people worried it could affect her health. But the court made sure her testimony ended before anything serious happened.
