Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a federal prison in New Jersey after being convicted on prostitution-related charges in New York, according to federal prison records.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that Combs is now at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional institution located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, northeast of Philadelphia. Before the transfer, he was held at a detention center in Brooklyn, New York.
Combs’ lawyers had requested this move, saying that Fort Dix would help him get treatment for drug issues and allow better access to family visits and rehabilitation programs.
Earlier this month, the 55-year-old music mogul was sentenced to just over four years in prison after being found guilty of violating the Mann Act, which bans transporting people across state lines for prostitution or other immoral purposes. He is appealing both the conviction and the sentence. His expected release date is May 2028.
Combs was cleared of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering after his high-profile trial in New York ended in July. He has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024.
FCI Fort Dix currently holds over 4,100 inmates and is described by the Bureau of Prisons as a low-security facility with an attached minimum-security camp.
