Sean “Diddy” Combs was taken from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center to a hospital last week for a medical checkup, The Post reported. The 55-year-old music mogul, who is awaiting trial on serious charges, was taken to Brooklyn Hospital around 10 p.m. on Thursday for an MRI scan. Justin Bieber may also be worried about Diddy’s scandal.
Sources say Combs has had knee problems for years, dating back to when he ran the New York Marathon. His knee was bothering him, so prison officials approved the scan to check for any issues.
The hospital visit was scheduled late at night to avoid attention from other inmates and staff. Authorities were also given advance notice in case news of the visit leaked and caused problems.
Combs did not stay overnight and was brought back to his cell after the scan. The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on his medical condition, saying they do not discuss inmate health for privacy and security reasons.
Combs has been in jail since December 3 after being denied bail. He is facing charges of sex trafficking, prostitution, and racketeering. Prosecutors claim he ran Bad Boy Records as a “criminal enterprise” and forced women into disturbing sexual situations, which he secretly recorded and used against them.
Combs has denied all the charges, and his trial is set for May 5. It is expected to be a highly publicized case.
