Testimony continues in the ongoing trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs, which resumed on Tuesday in New York City after a break for Memorial Day Too Fab. Last week, witnesses who took the stand included Kid Cudi, Cassie Ventura’s mother, a former friend of Cassie, Diddy’s ex-assistant, a federal agent, hotel management personnel, and an exotic dancer known as “Punisher.”
Diddy has maintained his innocence against multiple charges, including s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for the purpose of pr*stitution. If convicted on all counts, which also include charges of arson and bribery, he could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with the possibility of life behind bars.
The first week of testimony was led by Cassie Ventura, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, who dated him from 2007 to 2018. While on the stand, she shared explicit details about their s*xual encounters, referred to as “freak offs,” and made allegations concerning drug use, violence, blackmail, and even r*pe. During the proceedings, other witnesses included an escort who was reportedly involved in the “freak offs,” and an agent who detailed the evidence collected when authorities arrested Combs at a New York City hotel in September 2024. Former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard also testified.
In the second week, the star witness was Scott Mescudi, known professionally as Kid Cudi. He briefly dated Ventura in 2011 but broke up with her shortly after a car explosion that he attributes to Combs, as well as alleged threats and concerns about violence. He expressed feeling “played” by Ventura when she returned to Combs.
Also on the witness stand last week were Cassie’s mother, ex-best friend, and her former makeup artist. A forensics agent for Homeland Security testified what he found on her laptops, while the Special Agent in charge of the raid on Combs’ Miami Beach home testified what they encountered there.
A hotel manager detailed special instructions for Combs’ visits, while two of Combs’ ex-assistants also spoke about their instructions as employees, and a former exotic dancer named “Punisher” detailed his experiences with both Ventura and Combs during “freak offs.”
