Months after Cassie Ventura Fine sued Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2023, she revealed during court testimony that he paid her $20 million to settle the case. Cassie, who is 38 and expecting her third child, shared this during her second day of testifying on May 14 in Diddy’s ongoing sex-crimes trial. She said the money came from Diddy and his companies.
Cassie and Diddy dated for over 10 years before breaking up in 2018. She later began writing a book about her experiences in the relationship. She said she wanted Diddy to read it so he would understand how she felt.
Cassie told the court she offered to sell the book rights to Diddy for $30 million, hoping the high amount would make him take it seriously. When he didn’t respond, she filed a lawsuit in November 2023, accusing him of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and abuse.
The lawsuit was settled quickly just one day later, and both sides agreed to move on. Cassie said she was glad to resolve the matter on her own terms and thanked her supporters. Diddy also shared a short statement, saying he wished Cassie and her family the best.
In May 2024, CNN released hotel footage from 2016 showing Diddy kicking, hitting, and dragging Cassie. These actions matched what she described in her lawsuit. Diddy later posted a video apology, saying he takes “full responsibility” for what he did in the video.
