Brooklyn Peltz Beckham recently publicly sent his heartfelt birthday wishes to his father-in-law, Nelson Peltz, on Instagram on Tuesday, after he pointedly snubbed his own dad, David Beckham, on both his birthday and Father’s Day via Buzzfeed.
Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, are speculated to have some kind of beef with Brooklyn’s family as they failed to attend any of David’s three 50th birthday celebrations this year.
It has been reported by PEOPLE that there are “tensions between” the couple and the Beckhams, and that Brooklyn’s family is “hurt and disappointed” by the way they have been cut out.
Another insider went on to tell the same publication that the drama stems from Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding, when his mom, Victoria Beckham, is said to have hijacked the couple’s first dance.
Not only did Brooklyn and Nicola not attend any of David’s parties, they also did not publicly acknowledge his big day on May 2 on social media, either, which seemed pretty pointed considering they usually do post publicly about every relative’s birthday.
Then, when Father’s Day rolled around earlier this month, Brooklyn publicly snubbed his dad again. Despite David and Victoria tagging Brooklyn in multiple gushing posts, Brooklyn did not acknowledge any of them or post about his dad.
On Tuesday, however, Brooklyn did post about Nicola’s dad on his birthday in what is sure to be a divisive move. Sharing a photo of himself and Nicola posing with Nelson to his Instagram story, Brooklyn wrote: “Happy Birthday Nelson x we love you ❤️”
Nicola also paid tribute to her dad on her story, sharing a childhood photo of them together and writing: “happy birthday to my king!!! i’m so lucky to call you my dad you’re the most loving and supportive dad i could ever dream of! i love you so much!! i hope all your wishes come true!!”
The posts come after Brooklyn asserted his staunch loyalty to Nicola by insisting that asking her to marry him was the “best decision” he’s ever made. Marking the anniversary of his proposal, he shared a photo of them together with his millions of followers and wrote: “It’s been 5 years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me xx best decision ever x I love you so much ❤️”
