Meghan Markle is being criticized again for her cooking after she shared a video of cookies with a bug crawling out from under them.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, posted the clip on Instagram to promote her As Ever shortbread mix. The cookies were decorated with flowers, but viewers quickly noticed a bug moving on the plate. People online zoomed in and shared the video, with one person writing, “See the bug crawling around the cookie? Eek!” Others joked about her constant use of dried flowers, calling them “dead flower sprinkles.”
Many people were also upset that Meghan dipped a cookie into her tea, took a bite, and then placed it back on the serving tray with the rest of the cookies. One commenter said, “Even children know not to put food back once it’s been in their mouth.”
Her choice of presentation was also criticized. The cookies were shown on an old, stained baking sheet, which viewers called dirty and unprofessional. One person said, “I’ve never seen a cooking show use such a filthy pan.”
In her caption, Meghan tried to keep it positive, writing, “The As Ever team getting creative in the kitchen with our shortbread cookie mix, flower sprinkles, and delicious fruit spreads. Perfect for tea time… or anytime.” But critics online were not impressed.
Her Netflix show With Love, Meghan has also faced problems. Season 2 featured Chrissy Teigen, who has a history of cyberbullying, and many viewers thought it was a bad choice. Meghan and Prince Harry’s big Netflix deal has also been downgraded. Instead of Netflix paying for their projects directly, the couple now only has a first-look deal, meaning Netflix can choose to pass on their ideas.
Season 2 of the show was mostly made from leftover footage from Season 1, and while a holiday special is planned for December, there has been no word about a third season.
