Mathew Rosengart Backs Britney Spears After DUI Arrest
Britney Spears’ former lawyer, Mr Mathew Rosengart, has spoken publicly after the singer was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County, California, earlier this month. Spears, 44, was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol on 4 March and released the following morning, with a court appearance scheduled for 4 May.
In a statement, Daily Mail reported that Rosengart said it was his “great honor” to work with Spears during her legal battles and that she “is and will always be an icon.”
Rosengart, who represented the pop star during her 2021 effort to end a 13-year conservatorship, said he did not have the full facts about the 4 March incident but added that “with freedom comes responsibility,” and that he was pleased she would “take the right steps and comply with the law.” He also said he would continue to support her.
The latest development follows earlier reporting on the arrest and its fallout, including claims that Spears was worried about the legal consequences in the days after her release.
Spears’ representatives also issued a response in the wake of the arrest, describing the situation as an “unfortunate incident” and saying she intended to comply with the law while receiving support from those close to her. The case is expected to proceed through the Ventura County court system ahead of the scheduled May hearing.
