Britney Spears DUI Arrest: New Details Emerge
New details have emerged about the circumstances surrounding Britney Spears’ arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura, California, with the singer due in court on 4 May.
Us Weekly reported that Ms Spears, 44, was pulled over on 4 March for speeding and reckless driving, underwent sobriety tests and was booked into Ventura County Jail for roughly three hours before being released, with chemical test results still pending at the time of publication.
According to the report, a representative for Ms Spears issued a statement the following morning calling the incident “completely inexcusable” and saying she planned to comply with the law. The article also cited multiple unnamed sources claiming those close to Ms Spears had been concerned beforehand, with one source alleging substance misuse and describing pills as her “real vice”, including claims she struggled more after her conservatorship ended in 2021.
The piece said Ms Spears has recently reconnected with her sons, Preston and Jayden, and that her mother, Ms Lynne Spears, has been “very worried” and keeping tabs through Ms Spears and her team. Britpop News previously reported that Ms Spears’ legal situation has continued to unfold, including that she is expected to face court following the arrest.
Us Weekly also quoted legal professionals, including Ms Elizabeth Adinolfi and Ms Nina A. Kohn, on the high bar for any new conservatorship petition, while defence attorneys discussed possible charging decisions and typical penalties for a first-time DUI case.
