Reports suggest Oasis revealed that Mike Moore from Liam Gallagher’s solo band will replace Bonehead for the band’s upcoming shows in Asia and Australia. According to The Mirror, Bonehead is currently taking a break to receive treatment for prostate cancer.
A source close to the band explained to the outlet that it’s the temporary nature of the arrangement. The source of the outlet said, “It’s not a full time slot in the band and everyone wants Bonehead well and back but it’s a huge privilege for Mike and he’s excited to get on the stage.”
At the beginning of the month, Bonehead told fans in a social media post that he had been responding well to treatment for prostate cancer after being diagnosed at the start of 2025.
The musician, said he was moving onto the second phase of his treatment and as a result needed to miss a leg of the reunion tour.
His statement read: “Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is I’m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour. Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. “Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November.”
He is due to return to the stage on November 15th in Buenos Aires for the first of the final five concerts of the tour.
Meanwhile, Oasis kicked off their reunion tour in South Korea with their replacement guitarist, Mike Moore. While Bonehead couldn’t be there, the band made his presence known with a cardboard cut-out of the guitarist, which sat alongside their regular cut-out of Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
As with all their other shows, the band rolled through the same setlist of hits that leaned heavily towards material from their first two albums.
After South Korea, Oasis will play two nights in Tokyo on October 25th and 26th, before heading to Australia for three shows in Melbourne and two in Sydney.
