Prince William to Attend Peter Phillips Wedding
Prince William is expected to attend the upcoming wedding of his cousin Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, after missing Phillips’ first marriage ceremony in 2008 because of a scheduling clash. The service is due to take place at All Saints Church in Kemble, near Cirencester, bringing senior royals to the Cotswolds for a private family event.
Prince William will attend the nuptials after he was unable to make Phillips’ 2008 wedding to Autumn Phillips because he had a prior commitment overseas, Hello Magazine reported, adding that the then-Kate Middleton went to the earlier ceremony on her own.
In 2008, the Prince of Wales was in Kenya for the wedding of the brother of his former girlfriend, Jecca Craig, while Phillips and Autumn married in England in front of around 300 guests, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The report also quotes a source describing William’s absence as “an unfortunate clash,” and says he spoke to Phillips about not being able to attend.
Phillips, the son of The Princess Royal, and Ms Sperling, who were publicly linked in 2024, announced their engagement in August 2025 and are set to marry in June 2026. The couple share that both families were informed by invitation, and that King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales, were notified of the announcement.
The wedding will mark a new chapter for Phillips, who divorced Autumn in 2021 after 13 years of marriage and shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla. With William now expected to attend, the event is likely to be closely watched for further rare glimpses of royal family dynamics at a private ceremony.
