Britney Spears has shown off a new, sleeker hairstyle after recent headlines surrounding a DUI arrest and a stint in rehab. The singer appeared in an Instagram photo with celebrity hairstylist Mr. Chris Appleton, who is known for working with Kim Kardashian, as he unveiled her straightened blonde look.
Page Six reported that Mr. Appleton posted a picture with Spears on Instagram, showing her “straightened and smooth” blonde hair, which the outlet described as a departure from her usual more voluminous style. The report quoted Mr. Appleton saying: “As a kid growing up in England, Britney Spears was the soundtrack to so many moments,” adding that the moment “came full circle” and calling her “one of the most genuinely kind and gentle souls I’ve ever met.”
Page Six said Ms. Kim Kardashian reacted in the comments with heart-with-arrow emojis, and noted that Mr. Appleton previously styled Kardashian’s platinum-blonde hair for her Marilyn Monroe-inspired look at the 2022 Met Gala. The outlet also referenced Appleton’s past remarks that he can charge up to $200,000 for his services.
The post arrives after months of scrutiny for Spears, who has discussed personal struggles publicly, including in relation to her legal situation, and Britpop News has separately reported that she described her DUI case as prompting a “spiritual journey” in earlier online comments.
According to Page Six, Spears was arrested in Ventura County, California in March on suspicion of DUI before checking into rehab in April, and later pleaded guilty to a lesser “wet reckless” charge that avoided jail in exchange for probation, fines and a three-month alcohol education programme. The latest appearance suggests the pop star is continuing to re-emerge publicly while navigating the aftermath of the case.
