Lizzo Denies ‘Talking S—t’ About Taylor Swift
Lizzo has pushed back against an online accusation that she had been “s—t talking” Taylor Swift, issuing an expletive-filled denial on social media as the exchange drew further debate among fans over past pop-culture feuds.
The row began when an X user shared a clip connected to Lizzo’s music video “STFU,” and the singer reposted it asking followers to explain the caption, Page Six reported.
After one commenter claimed the post meant Lizzo’s “s—t talking” about Swift had “finally caught up” with her, Lizzo replied directly, writing: “First of all I have never talked s–t about Taylor Swift. Also while we on the subject I’ve never talked s–t about any artist,” adding that naming an artist does not automatically amount to insulting them.
Some users responded by revisiting the rapper Kanye West’s long-running feud with Swift, alleging Lizzo previously appeared to support him in 2016, while others argued the resurfaced clips did not prove she had taken aim at Swift. The discussion comes as Lizzo’s online moments continue to attract scrutiny following previous music-related controversies, including when she was attacked by racists for a Radiohead-related post.
The episode underlines how quickly celebrity disputes can escalate on social platforms, with a single comment thread prompting wider arguments about old alliances and public statements as both artists remain prominent in global pop culture.
